Hi, it's been a while, as you can see the FOCCP are still going strong however we have had problems gaining access to update this site, I hope we have now sorted the gremlins and very soon we will be able to update all items. Already you will have noticed that there is a poster in the events section advertising our Summer Fayre on the 16th July 2017, contact details have been updated and also meeting dates. For the moment most of the information will be kept on for posterity to show what great work has been done in Campsall Country Park before consigning it to the archives ready for updating, to show the great work that is continuing to be done for the future benefit of Campsall Country Park and it's community.
We are currently a small group, but you know what they say "many hands make light work" so if you are interested and would like to get involved please come to one of our meetings or contact us direct.
Best wishes

March Update
In early March FCCP took delivery of a
Woodland Trust tree pack which it applied for a couple of months ago. The pack
includes 420 saplings, which can be planted as a block of trees on approximately
one acre of land. All are deciduous and in future years will have fruit/nuts
which can be harvested. The pack includes hazel, crab apple and dog rose.
FCCP and the Countryside Rangers will
be planting these starting in mid-March. Posters on local notice boards give
full information of work days, plus this website.
Over the last month a number of bird
boxes have been installed in the Country Park and we hope a range of small
birds will use these. If anyone is interested in sponsoring a bird box get in
touch via the website.

The Dogwood Party 5th April
Thanks to the group of 7 who gave up part of the Easter holiday to tackle the dogwood. It has made a huge difference as the photos show (before and after our work).
A large number of the cuttings were replanted to establish new growth and a stronger stand of this shrub with its attractive red bark in the autumn/winter.
The other photo shows the tired but happy group at the end of their work.
Working parties take place the first Friday of each month, look out under Events for the next one.

Come along and help us tackle ivy!
Working Party Results
Working party results. Look at the photos below to see the group hard at work. The ivy was really tough and thick, and clearing the path of a fallen tree was vital.
Autumn 2012 - Update
It was great to see 12 people come along to help with Phase 3 of the improvements to the footpaths – clearing the vegetation to make sure each path can be used. Two clear up days took place in the autumn and further ones are now planned. If you want to help watch out for the notices or contact us (see numbers below).
FCCP heard recently it has been awarded a £500 grant from the Fund for Older People. A “kissing gate” – big enough for buggies and wheelchairs – will be placed at one of the entrances using this money.
With help from Campsmount a website is under construction – full details in a future issue.
If you would like to be involved the Friends of Campsall Country Park group meet the 3rd Monday of each month, at the Wellingtonia Centre, Wellingtonia Road, Campsall. Come along if would like to help to create a better country park. Contacts for more information:
